Tabata Tuesday

Tabata is very fun class to music and it’s a great way to work all the muscle groups all before your brain as a chance to change your mind. Tabata is a high-intensity interval training method that consists of 8 exercises that are fast-paced each performed for 20 seconds interspersed with a brief rest of 10 seconds. We will start the class with a dynamic cardio Tabata to warm the body and joints, followed by 4 Tabata’s 4 minutes each working the whole body for example:

Warm up Tabata 1 (4 minutes) 2 rounds (1 minute rest in-between Tabata’s)

  • Jog on the spot
  • Fast feet or run gym floor
  • Squats
  • Lunges

Followed by dynamic stretches

Tabata 2 lower body (4 minutes) 2 rounds

  • Skaters
  • Squat and squat holds
  • Shuffle tap
  • Pop squats

Tabata 3 upper body (4 minutes) 2 rounds

  •  Press ups with variations
  • Triceps dips
  • Shoulder DB press
  • Bent over DB row

Tabata 4 Full body (4 minutes) 2 rounds

  • 4 exercises repeated once as above

Tabata 5 Abs (4 minutes) 2 rounds

  • 4 exercises repeated once as above

Last 5 minutes is the cool down stretches and breathing.
