To help keep the atmosphere and create a respectful environment for all members we politely request that the following rules be observed.
The Club’s opening hours, as amended from time to time, are displayed at reception and on the Club’s website.
Members must ensure they cease use of the Club facilities at least 30 minutes before the Club closes to allow adequate time for showering and dressing.
Free parking is available for Members, Guests, and Visitors in the public Village Hall car park. You may not leave your car in front of the Club, Church street or Wyvern Place. Any Member, Guest or Visitor found to be breach of this rule may be refused admission or may have their membership suspended or terminated.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY READINESS QUESTIONNAIRE
Upon joining the Club all new members are required to complete and sign a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire. The purpose of this is to ensure that the Club’s staff are fully informed of any physical or medical condition which could affect the members ability or suitability to take part in physical activities.
Only if the Club’s staff are fully and accurately informed, can they assess the member’s health and fitness level and prepare an appropriate exercise programme.
The Club strongly recommends that all members seek medical advice before commencing a new exercise programme and the Club reserves the right to request a doctor’s certificate and to reject a membership application if a satisfactory doctor’s certificate is not received by the Club.
On joining all members are offered a comprehensive induction to instruct you on the use of the gym equipment. You are strongly advised to undertake this. Bodywise Gym and Studios Ltd will not accept any liability for any claim for personal injury if you use the gym equipment having not undertaken an induction from a qualified member of Bodywise Gym and Studios staff.
If you are unsure as to how to use any piece of equipment you must seek advice from a qualified member of Bodywise Gym and Studios staff before use such equipment.
CLASSES & STUDIO ETIQUETTE
If you wish to attend a class you may book a class as early as one week or as late as one day in advance by booking via Fitsense App, at reception in person, by phone or email.
No bags or clothing allowed on the studio floor as these items are a trip hazard. No outdoor shoes are permitted in the studio or the gym. Use the lockers in the changing rooms, or other storage facilities provided by the Club.
You are requested not to open the doors or windows while a class is in progress, as this may interfere with the operation of the air-conditioning system and disrupt other participants or the neighbours.
Ensure you arrive 5 minutes before the start time, entry could be refused once a class has started.
- Classes may be cancelled or changed by Bodywise Gym and Studios at short notice due to:
- Seasonal changes, Instructor holidays, unavoidable circumstances such as traffic delays or illness.
- Rotating classes to the most popular slots.
- Low numbers of participants – at least 5 participants for a class to run.
- Classes failing to build to at least 8 participants will be taken off and changed for a more popular class.
Members must accompany their guests at all times and members shall not leave the Club premises before their guests. All guests must register and sign the appropriate Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire.
The Club reserves the right to refuse admission to a guest for reasons of health and safety or if the proposed guest has previously not complied with Club rules.
All Club users are expected to wear suitable attire at all times while using Club facilities. Approved clean footwear and clothing are: t-shirt or vest; shorts or trousers suitable for training; and closed shoes suitable for training (with exceptions for certain class activities where bare feet are required). Open shoes, flip-flops/sandals, boots, work wear or jeans are not permitted.
All Club users are required to change in designated changing rooms. For safety reasons, bags and other personal belongings are not permitted onto the gym floor unless being used for training purposes.
SAFETY AND HYGIENE
In the interest of Safety and Hygiene, no crockery or glasses are allowed in the changing rooms, fitness areas, dance and exercise studios and other activity areas.
Entry to the Club is only permitted by scanning QR code with the Fitsense app or with membership card at the Club reception desk.
Fire exits, which are clearly marked, are there in the interests of safety and members and guests must not interfere with these doors for any reason. In the event of an emergency evacuation, members and guests must immediately make their way in an orderly fashion to the nearest available exit.
If any member shall cause nuisance or annoyance to other members, guests or Club staff, or misuse the Club facilities, or breach any etiquette guidelines, or generally behave inappropriately, the Club reserves the right to refuse admission or suspend or terminate membership. Do not be offended if you are confronted by a staff member and asked to conform to any of the rules below:
- Replace all equipment after use.
- Do not misuse the weights by dropping them on the floor.
- Wipe down all equipment after use with spray and paper roll provided.
- Do not use equipment outside of what it is designed for.
- Do not monopolise equipment. Allow others to use the equipment whilst you are resting.
- All minors using the Club must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.
- You are asked to arrive at the gymnasium 5 minutes prior to any personal training or induction appointments. We reserve the right to refuse to re-book an appointment for you if you repeatedly cancel (with less than 24 hours’ notice) or fail to keep an appointment for services and/or exercise programmes.
For security reasons, Members and Guests are asked to store personal belongings in the lockers provided. All usage of lockers is governed by the membership terms and conditions. Lockers are provided on a daily basis only, and items left overnight will be removed on the following day and treated as lost property.
All lost property found on the premises should be handed in to the Club reception. Items whose ownership cannot be identified will be stored by the Club for six weeks and then donated to local charities. Items which appear valuable may be sold with the proceeds donated to charity.
COMMENTS AND COMPLAINTS
Please refer to any comments or complaints to a member of the Club staff. Written complaints must be addressed to the Club General Manager.
Members must inform Bodywise Gym and Studios Ltd of any change of contact and email address or telephone numbers.
No food or drink, alcoholic or otherwise, or illegal substances may be brought into and consumed within the Club or its grounds. Smoking is prohibited in any area of the Club including the use of e-cigarettes or similar devices.
Bodywise Gym and Studios reserves the right to make changes to the Club Rules from time to time, and any changes will be effective immediately. Copies of these Rules can be obtained from reception or from the Bodywise Gym and Studios website.
